Our mission

At Hope 4 Every Kid, our mission is:

“To provide young people with the information, tools and resources they need to overcome, survive and thrive!”

Our focus

Our aim is to help children develop the skills and aptitude they need to deal with any sort of challenging or adverse circumstances they may face in life.
Emotional Literacy

In order to succeed, every child needs to learn the basics of emotional literacy. Our goal is to provide the tools and information kids need to develop a healthy understanding of emotions and how to deal with them.

Relationship Building

One key to helping children overcome difficulty is having a relationship with a trusted adult. We are committed to helping caring adults build transformative relationships with the children in their lives.

Dealing With Adversity

Studies show that adverse childhood experiences can have lasting impacts on a child's life. We provide information and resources needed to help kids who have experienced any form of trauma to find hope and healing.

Jump In! Stand Strong! Rise Up!

A key part in giving young people hope for the future as well as building their resilience in difficult times lies in helping them to understand and deal with the emotions they face in their every day lives. At Hope 4 Every Kid, we have developed a comprehensive emotions management program which to do just that. We call it Jump In! Stand Strong! Rise Up! and in many ways it serves as the very core of much of the work we do. Let's have a closer look.

We live in a culture that teaches kids (and all people) to avoid difficult emotions and circumstance. In order to heal though, we must teach kids to jump in to the muck and mire and deal with the difficult emotions they are feeling. The mnemonic “Super Simple Feelings Management Technique” covers the five aspects of emotional engagement: See It! Say It! Feel It! Mimic It! and Talk About It!

If we are going to encourage young people to “Jump In!” to the swamp that is their emotional lives, we have to provide them with some techniques and skills to deal with overwhelming emotions. Stand Strong! is all about helping young people to find coping skills to help them navigate their emotions. The Mnemonic “Please Don’t Sweat The Small Stuff” reminds us of the six types of coping skills: Physical, Diversion, Soothing, Thinking, Social and Spiritual.
